China Through The Lens Of John Thomson : Burrell Collection
John Thomson (1837 - 1921) was a (Scottish) pioneering photojournalist. From 4th February 2011 the Burrell Collection, in Pollok Park, have a major exhibition of his images taken in mid-19th Century China; its landscapes, culture and people. The subject matter is fascinating alone but consider Thomson's importance in the history of photojournalism and you have a significant exhibition.
